5 Greatest Singers Turned Actors

4. Tom Waits

He has one of the most distinctive voices in modern music and is a ridiculously talented composer. His name is whispered in awed, hushed tones by other musicians. Waits has been a force in music for over 40 years. He€™s also been acting for about the same length of time. Albeit, some of his roles are small and un-credited (Wolfen, One from the Heart, The Two Jakes), and others are bit parts (The Book of Eli) but he was front and center in 2012€™s Seven Psychopaths. What€™s most impressive about Waits€™ acting is that he manages to slip seamlessly into a film. His characters might be odd, jarring even, but I€™m not focusing on the fact that Tom Waits is portraying them. His fame and persona never overshadow his performance, a skill that some seasoned actors haven€™t mastered yet (see Robert Downey, Jr. in Sherlock Holmes). Bonus: Waits has a Golden Globe (an ensemble award for his role in Short Cuts, but still, it counts).

Angel Woods hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
