5 Horror Novels That Deserve Film Adaptations (And 5 That Deserve Better)
6. Sleepwalkers - Deserves Better
Not everything that genre icon/ Pennywise creator Stephen King touches turns to literary gold.
The famous horror author is incredibly prolific, a fact which results in many of his novels being ill-considered duds which are quickly forgotten by fans.
However, this doesn't mean the writer deserved 1992's unintentionally hilarious Sleepwalkers, as the original script King wrote which the film is based on is at least better than the laughably corny Mick Garris adaptation it received.
Featuring some regrettably hysterical effects work and a predictable story, this tale of the eponymous vampire-like species searching for a virgin to feast on may have benefitted from King's first original script, but that doesn't mean said screenplay didn't deserve better than this embarrassing film incarnation.
