5 Huge Godzilla Mistakes That King Of The Monsters Must Avoid
1. The Darkness
Having trouble making out what's actually happening in the above image? Yeah, don't worry, you weren't the only one.
After playing with audiences' emotions for the entire film, Godzilla finally pulled the trigger on its heavily-teased battle as the titular monster squared off against both MUTOs in the final act. And it would have been glorious if you could actually see what was going on.
Granted, the MUTOs' constant EMPs knocked the power out in the entire city so it was always going to be dark, but that doesn't mean that audience members should have had to give themselves headaches trying to figure out who was in the process of killing who.
The exceptionally dark filter took away from what should have been a majestic showdown and resulted in it being virtually impossible to see, well, anything really. Thus, it's important that King Of The Monsters doesn't make the same mistake because, as fans of the Godzilla character will know all too well, the battle scenes are always the best parts of these movies.
Why make the audience wait for something that they're never going to be able to fully enjoy?
Let them fight, sure, but also, let there be light.
