3. For Your Eyes Only - Blondie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3anh2SV-7s Being a rock star has a lot of perks. Attempting to fit into the mainstream culture every once in awhile when it suits you is not one of them. For example, exemplary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino had his heart set on directing Casino Royale his entire life. When he heard the rights had finally been won by Eon, he boldly approached them to ask for the directing job. Everyone knows the ending to that story. So it comes as no surprise that rock singer Blondie's version of For Your Eyes Only got stonewalled when she submitted it to be the theme for the Roger Moore's film back in 1981. A real shame, it's quite good. The track eventually found itself on Blondie's next album The Hunter and became one of those big, "what ifs."
