5. Jenette Goldstein
Jenette Goldstein is unquestionably best-known for her performances in Cameron's Aliens, Terminator 2 and
Titanic, most notably as Pvt. Vasquez, the butch, wise-cracker in Aliens, while in the latter two films, she played more relaxed roles, as John Connor's foster mother - who nevertheless gets to display some menace once the T1000 assumes her form - and as an Irish occupant of the Titanic. Though Goldstein doesn't work much these days, she has shown herself adept in less physical, more dramatic fare having starred in TV shows the likes of
24 and
Alias. Though Goldstein wouldn't likely be up for - or convincing in - a physical role, her recognisably husky voice and piercing eyes would make her a great fit as a Na'vi alongside Lance Henriksen, perhaps playing his character's wife. Goldstein's fellow elder could be a spirit guide of Pandora, while being resolutely tough as the actress is best characterised. One could imagine her as a role model for Neytiri, and perhaps someone she might also consult with; perhaps Goldstein's character would have been similar to Neytiri in her youth.
