3. Charlie/Hank - Me, Myself and Irene
One, or more accurately two, of the more bizarre characters that Carrey has played over the years is the split personality of Charlie Baileygates and Hank, his evil self. Although obviously this isn't his fault, his split personality comes as a result of a bad separation from his wife, who runs off with a limo driver. Just for the record, Hank is the one you wouldn't want to know, with Charlie being an extremely mild mannered and considerate cop. Whilst he will sometimes take on a 'baddie,' for littering no less, Hank is very much an evil incarnation of Charlie, bringing out the bad side of his character. This manifests itself at one time with him holding a little girl's head under water, a real problem if you were a friend of his and also happened to be a 7-year-old female. Obviously his violent streak would certainly not appeal in the friendship stakes. However, this pales into insignificance when you experience the public humiliation trying to buy certain medical items, with Hank using a store public address system to tell everyone what you had in your basket. To add to that, he would constantly be asking you to perform ridiculous tasks such as punching him in the face, which incidentally lands Charlie in hospital. All these factors point to the notion that you would find it extremely difficult (and painful) to remain friends with Hank in real life.
