1. The Riddler - Batman Forever
The assault on the senses you would experience just by looking at The Riddler, with his bright orange hair and equally bright green suit, would be a lot to take in before he even opens his mouth. This is just the beginning however, and we come to realise that The Riddler is certainly up there as one of Carrey's most annoying characters. The question marks on his suit might be the only visible ones on show, but they certainly aren't the only ones present as you struggle to understand what this man is all about. Having the ability to converse normally seems completely alien to him, and means you will really struggle to hold a conversation with one of Batman's more intelligent enemies. The classic Carrey body movements and loud persona once again show themselves to be at first funny, after a while debilitating. The sticking point being that was exactly who he was supposed to be, transforming the Riddler from a comic book character into the rubbery agile man in green. Hi ability to steal your thoughts and read your mind would also get on your nerves a bit if you knew him, making him yet another of Carrey's characters that you just could not bear to see that often. Luckily with his brightly coloured everything, he would be easy to spot and therefore easy to avoid if you see him coming down the street. Still, despite the problems with all these characters, long may they last. (For as long as his films last anyway, so approximately two hours.) Do you feel there are any other of Carrey's characters that deserve a mention in this list?
