5 John Wick Spinoffs We Want To See

We're not done with Keanu Reeves' best role.

John Wick first arrived in 2014 and became the movie your friend would not shut up about until you saw it for yourself. Turns out we should all be grateful to that friend because it has spawned a celebrated sequel and a highly anticipated finale in May of this year.

And although Chapter 3 could be the end of John Wick, it certainly isn't the end of the John Wick Universe. A John Wick spinoff entitled The Continental is in development at Starz. Fans know the Continental as the chain of hotels assassins go to for everything from weapons to safe harbor, making it a perfect premise and setting to expand on the Wick world.

One of the underrated aspects of this franchise is the environment. This shadow society is clearly larger than the baba yaga himself, featuring its own set of laws, social hierarchy and even currency. Other spinoffs would give us a greater glimpse in universe and its history, gangs and personalities that made the World around Wick so interesting.

Also, seeing more knife fights and headshots would not be a bad thing.

5. John Wick Prequel

Let's start with the most obvious option.

We are introduced to Wick as a retired assassin and he is framed as a living legend. We seem to have been dropped in on the final John Wick adventure. His current story is one of revenge and survival. However, his past motivations may not have been so primal. Many people would like to see what really made him the unstoppable force we have seen in the first two films.

With this said, an origin wouldn't be the best route. Expanding on John Wick the man would sacrifice the idea of John Wick. What makes this character so imposing is that he is seemingly mythological. Providing answers to questions such as where is he from, how long has he been in this world and how exactly he got out could be compromising.

If a prequel is to work, it would be best to show Wick as an established, veteran on the job. The idea should be an ordinary day in his past life, one that could show expand on his relationships with others in this universe such as Winston (Ian McShane) and Aurelio (John Leguizamo).

It would be best if a Wick Prequel could bring back Keanu Reeves and give us greater insights into his life and the world at large without interfering with the character's lore. Giving us a film with Wick on his day job seems like the most workable premise.
