5 Major Reveals From The First Captain America: Civil War Promo Art

1. There's No Sign Of Spider-Man

Rumour has it that Spider-Man will end up fighting alongside Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War, though if the comic book version of this story is anything to go by, here's hoping he ends up realising the error of his ways and joining up with Steve Rogers. Whatever the answer, it's interesting that the young hero is nowhere to be seen here. While it was initially reported that Tom Holland's Peter Parker will play only a very minor role in the movie, it's become clear lately that he'll actually have a much larger part than expected (despite reports that the actor was only expected to shoot for a few days in Atlanta, he's since spent some time on set in Germany). His absence could be a sign that Marvel is planning on keeping Spidey under wraps for the forseeable future, something which was definitely the case in that D23 highlight reel. Also notable by her absence is the Scarlet Witch. She'll apparently be part of Cap's team, but is nowhere to be found here. An explanation for that might could be when this artwork was created and may also explain why there's no Spider-Man. The Black Panther image in that team shot is clearly the same one used to reveal the character at last year's Comic-Con, and it was around that time Joss Whedon was considering putting Captain Marvel at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron (she was ultimately replaced by Scarlet Witch, with Marvel even using the same plate shot). If that's the case, it would explain why Wanda didn't factor into Civil War for a time. She's been spotted on set though, so don't let her or Spider-Man's lack of coverage here fool you into thinking they won't have pivotal roles. Are you #TeamCaptainAmerica or #TeamIronMan?
