3. What Ever Happened To ‘The Leader’ From The Incredible Hulk?
Until Red Skull showed up again in Avengers: Infinity War, everyone thought he was just a villain that the MCU had long since forgotten about. As happy as we were to be proven wrong however, there is still one other villain teased in the MCU that seemingly was completely forgotten about and never heard from since: The Leader.
The tease comes in The Incredible Hulk movie, where Samuel Sterns was infected with some of Banner’s blood, and began rapidly mutating and lost his mind, become the Leader. He then appeared as the primary villain in the Hulk sequel. Oh, wait, no not that. In fact, he never showed up again.
Forgotten as he may have been in the films, the comics hold an answer to his fate. After the infection, he is tracked down by Black Widow, to whom he delivers a classic ‘evil genius’ monologue. Rather than deal with all that, Natasha simply and brutally incapacitates him with a bullet through the kneecap, before dragging his ass outside and handing him over to S.H.I.E.L.D custody, where he still remains.
