2. Warwick Davis As Willow Ufgood (Willow)
Warwick Davis appears again in our list in perhaps his 2nd most famous role. We have chosen his performance as Willow Ufgood over Return of the Jedi's Wicket however as it is a) a less obvious choice and b) actually stars Davis without any kind of costume or make up. Willow Ufgood is an iconic fantasy character who perhaps has never reached the levels he was expected to despite having the influential (even back then) George Lucas and Ron Howard in his corner. He is also the first person on our list who stands for everything that is truly good. He is a honourable man who seeks only to do good. Sure he's cranky at times but he's certainly not of Gimli standards when it comes to his temperament and compared to the majority of dwarf characters that spring to mind has no ulterior motive. Willow is a hero plain and simple. Casting Warwick Davis as the lead in an action fantasy movie was a brave decision by the film makers which sadly did not pay off. This was as good as anything else being churned out by Hollywood in the 1980's and with the success of shows like Game of Thrones and the continued success of franchises like The Hobbit perhaps a sequel isn't too far away?
