1. Kevin Thwarts The Wet Bandits (Home Alone)
When Kevin McCallister's parents go to Florida for Christmas, a series of pre-holiday events lead them to accidentally leave him behind. Initially overjoyed at having the house to himself for a while, Kevin soon finds himself in great danger. After overhearing that the small time crooks Harry and Marv (known in this movie as the 'wet bandits') plan to raid his home, Kevin becomes a military tactician. Kevin sets a series of traps and watches on with sadistic glee as the would-be burglars are tripped, burnt, smacked, shot, stapled and spiked from one trap to the next and uses his resourcefulness in close-contact encounters to utilise things like his brother's escaped tarantula to thwart them. Eventually, they do catch him, but with a little bit of help from the creepy old man with the shovel, they are ultimately caught by the police and taken away.
