5 Movies To Restore Faith In The Horror Genre

2. Thale

Those Norwegians have been at it again. Foreign films have always produced a fair number of stunning horror movies, and Thale is the latest of these to provide a disturbing mythical tale of folklore that will be particularly of interest to those who like to hunt down foreign films before the Americans get their hands on them and ruin them. While not strictly a horror movie, there are still some horrific elements to the proceedings of what has a base in the crime genre. Made on the smallest of budgets this is not a film that will stand up against the big budget movies of the USA but contains some serious acting talent, decent use of CGI €“ certainly better than anything Syfy Originals have ever managed €“ and a thoughtful and disturbing story, it is unique enough to warrant a place on this list. Thale was released back in February, and so far no one in the US has decided to pick it up and remake it as one of their own. Do yourself a favour and check out the original one now.
