2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I love the TMNT as much as every kid who grew up on the cartoon, toys, and comics. The four crime fighting mutants are a symbol of nostalgia for a time of simplicity and imagination that many of us cherish. However, this one has Michael Bay's stench all over it. From the very beginning everyone involved already threw fan's concerns out the window as the idea of source material apparently counts for nothing to Michael Bay and his cronies. Although only produced by Michael Bay, we can still assume that his usual mutilation of quality and respect will be at the forefront as Megan Fox portraying April O'Neil will probably sport a thong and bikini the entire first act while the Turtles get lost in one racial stereotype after another. Then there was the scare that Bay wanted the turtles back story to be changed to them being aliens. And if you weren't outraged by that announcement then you are the problem with the world, not the solution. But after pretty much telling fans to get over it and just chill, Bay finally announced that the Turtles will not be alien but mutants as they should be. This is a reprieve from the worries that another childhood establishment will be shredded to bits by Michael Bay and those involved just as he did with Transformers. No trailer has been released yet and we only have vague set photos to tell us anything about the movie, but I'm sure at some point leg-humping and bathroom humor will make its way onto posters as Bay's usual trademarks. As we get closer to release there may be some evidence of redeeming qualities, but as of right now I do not see much.
