5 Potential X-Men Movies To Follow Apocalypse

1. X-Men Origins: Gambit

5 Xmen Origins GambitTalent attached: Channing Tatum? If this comes to fruition it would simply be titled Gambit, because audiences might get confused with the 2013 caper remake starring Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz. You know, like everyone in Britain was going to confuse 2012's The Avengers with the obscure 1960's show and 1997 flop movie, so they helpfully retitled it Avengers Assemble. Right? Right? This is the most recent possible X-Movie to be floated about- Tatum mentioned it might be fun to do because of his New Orleans background and supposedly-really-convincing Cajun accent. Lauren Shuler Donner seems keen, otherwise she wouldn't directly mentioned Tatum. But this is Hollywood, so this might just be another flippant comment- considering the varied track record the franchise has had when moving away from the original team, a lower-budget flick might be fantastic or a real stinker. Frankly, there'd be nothing wrong with Tatum taking on the role- he'd have trouble following Taylor Kitsch's iconic portrayal, but everyone whinged about Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher, and that turned out better than expected. Tatum's turned himself around from a muscly lunk into a surprisingly sharp and likeable leading man, so this might be a wonderful left-field performance. However, considering his schedule and the more pressing opportunities discussed previously, this will be a long time coming... Likelihood (out of 5): 1 So we've taken a guess at which film is going to come hot off the heels of Apocalypse in 2016. But it's really a case of 'Only Time Will Tell'- because there's every chance we might not be seeing much of Charles Xavier's Gifted & Talented for a while, unless they do well enough at the box office in the next couple of years. Then again, the ninth X-Men film could eaisly be something out of the blue that none of us expect and isn't on this list. X-Men Origins: Nightcrawler, anyone?
