5 Potential X-Men Movies To Follow Apocalypse

2. Deadpool

4 DeadpoolTalent attached: Ryan Reynolds, Tim Miller, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick Now, isn't it about time this came to fruition? Sort-of announced back in 2009 despite the poor reception towards X-Men Origins: Wolverine and its dramatically... different interpretation of Wade Wilson, The Merc With A Mouth, everybody's been waiting for this much beloved Mutant to get his own solo outing. This would certainly be a different kind of superhero movie, and would actually benefit the whole X-Franchise by showing they too aren't afraid to take risks- like Marvel. And this is certainly risky in a Studio's eyes, and unless it's R-rated there's really no point in giving it the greenlight. This is a horribly disfigured and extremely violent wiseass who constantly breaks the fourth wall. Not the kind of figure you can slap on a lunchbox... The draft of the script by Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick that was floating around a while ago garnered a good response, and for a while Robert Rodriguez was supposedly attached. Now in charge is Tim Miller, previously of VFX outfit Blur Studio, and still attached is poor old Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds is incredibly passionate about getting this off the ground, and despite recent rumblings that Deadpool is making baby steps towards a greenlight, if we're going to ever see this it's likely to be a diluted version of the original vision, and certainly won't be the film to follow 2016's Apocalypse.
