5 Pranks & Stories About Actors That Are Just Too Awesome

3. Jodie Foster Appreciates Bagpipes; Mel Gibson, Not So Much

Mel Gibson once rewrote the Maverick script for Jodie Foster, giving her all the worst lines he could think of. Foster then proved that she wasn't the type of lady to be out-pranked, so she took Gibson's love of Scotland to an entirely new level. It turns out that the Silence of the Lambs actress actually hired a bagpipe player (in a full, traditional Scottish outfit) to follow Gibson around at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party after taking home the awards for Braveheart. Because, really, once you stare down the likes of Hannibal Lector and Buffalo Bill, what can you really be afraid of? The two remain good friends to this day. Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
