4. The Weylands?
I can't help but hear MC Hammer playing in the back of my head on a loop - Do what they wanna do, say what they wanna say, live how they wanna live, play how they want to play, the Wey-land Fa-mi-ly. And thinking about it, this bunch of possibly psychopathic overachievers are not too dissimilar to the Addams Family at all. They are certainly scary enough to compete with them. Firstly, why was nobody surprised to find out that Weyland was actually not dead at all, after what they had been told, and also aboard the ship? Did this not strike anyone as odd that they didn't know of it already? If he was alive all along, then why get your holographic double to tell the crew you were dead? And why dress up like Dave Bowman in 2010? It does explain, however, the fact that the holographic image of Weyland seemed to know exactly where Shaw and Holloway were sitting in the briefing, despite his speech allegedly being a recording. Why was it relevant for us to know that Meredith was Weyland's daughter? There was nothing done with this information. Additionally, and this may just be fluffy head-scratching, why didn't David have to wake her from stasis? Everybody else needed to be woken by him. I'm with Idris Elba on this one. I think she's a robot too.
