2. Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy
Even though Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy is not apart of the new DC filmverse and Batman has been re-imagined as Ben Affleck, there's still no denying that Nolan and his superb sensibilities are godfather to this new DC filmverse being created as we speak. He was a producer on Man of Steel and helped guide that film towards being different and more mature in its themes. David Goyer is becoming an integral part of making the DC filmverse as well and he is involved in practically everything DC and Warner Brothers are bringing to fruition. People may know him as the man that helped Nolan write the Dark Knight trilogy. The Dark Knight trilogy created a Batman that felt different and familiar all at once. Nolan created a superhero mythology that existed within the realms of reality. He introduced film-making masterpieces like The Dark Knight that proved superhero movies could stand with the best of cinema. With Snyder and Goyer and everyone else involved using Nolan's take on the Dark Knight trilogy as inspiration for further films, the DC filmverse has a set a high goal Marvel is not striving for. DC is looking to present something different and unique and push the envelope and quality in the same way that Nolan did when he took on the impossible task of retooling Batman into the Dark Knight.
