5 Reasons Dirty Harry 6 Is Still A Good Idea

5. Clint Eastwood Could Use A Hit

Clint Eastwood At this stage in Clint Eastwood's career, he's one of the few people that can probably make pretty much whatever he wants whenever he wants courtesy of Warner Brothers. However, the man still hasn't had a hit in a while at the box office or with critics/audiences. He certainly doesn't need one, but it couldn't hurt. The last time people and critics really responded to an Eastwood vehicle was when he made Gran Torino. In that film Eastwood growled, kicked ass and took names much in the same way he did in the Dirty Harry franchise. Some even view Gran Torino as the unofficial sequel to the Dirty Harry franchise. Though I disagree with this theory, it speaks to a larger sentiment about what people really want to see from Eastwood and that something is Dirty Harry. Eastwood's recent films have been modest successes at best and the rest of his career will probably follow suit as he seems to be picking the same sort of material i.e. more old fashioned dramas. This is all the more reason for Eastwood to supply his career with one final hit. The man has had numerous successes in directing, acting and beyond. It's easy to tell the man could make Dirty Harry 6 a success rather easily especially with him behind the camera. He deserves and could pull off one final home run.
