5 Reasons Hellboy 3 Needs To Happen Already

2. Narrative Resolution

With how much of a struggle it seems to be in getting Hellboy 3 off the ground, it's fair to say that, should it actually ever happen, a fourth film would likely not be in the cards. As such, a third film could focus on truly bringing the trilogy to a close with a big finish, tying up all the narrative threads left open by the first two films in the process. The biggest and most important of these is Hellboy's ultimate fate and what it means for both the world and for Liz. As the Angel of Death informed Liz during The Golden Army's final act, her choice to save Hellboy's life would ultimately have major consequences on humanity, with Liz destined to suffer most of all. Throw in other threads like Liz's announcement that she and Hellboy are expecting twins, how the B.P.R.D. responds to the group's departure and what becomes of each of them in their new lives and Hellboy 3 has a lot to play around with alongside inevitable new characters and evil forces. Wherever the film decides to go, though, it's bound to tackle the Angel of Death's promise and hopefully satisfy audiences by completing Hellboy's journey.
