5 Reasons Indiana Jones 5 Should NOT Be Made (And 5 Reasons It Should)

5. Potential For A Reboot (Should)

With Disney's bid for global domination going well, you can imagine the demand for high rollers in the commissioning department. If a franchise still has legs, chuck some fresh faces at it, but keep it appealing to the now grown-up nerds that loved it the first time around and get it back on the conveyor belt. This is now the state of the Indiana Jones franchise as we know it.

Disney can still make a pretty packet from these films and if they have to, there will be a reboot. While not an ideal prospect, it is not without its appeal. If James Bond can do it and still be the highest earner for MGM then why not Dr. Jones too?

If they decide to go the reboot direction, then that lets Ford off the hook and opens the door for a new actor. Chris Pratt was very much a fan favourite, there were even some photoshopped images of his mug glued onto Ford's from a Last Crusade promo shot (see above) that honestly looked convincing, so why not?

There is nothing to say that a completely new cast and a new crew couldn't do something really special. After all, the appeal of Indy is not his character, it's being Indiana jones that's the thrill. With a younger actor and a return to the late 1930s threat of the Nazis, who's to say it might not just work?
