5 Reasons Mark Ruffalo's Hulk Should Get His Own Movie

2. Potential For Change

mrfixit When most non-comic fans think of the Hulk, they think of a big, green guy who basically just growls and smashes things in a rampage in tattered purple pants. That€™s the most popular conception of the character among most. But the Hulk has actually gone through many, many changes in the comics. There have been times when he€™s become better at communicating, sometimes in child-like terms, such as saving a deer from hunters and taking it as a pet he names €œBambi.€ Later on, Bruce underwent another change. Instead of the green, dimwitted monster, he transformed into a gray-skinned Hulk who was smaller than the green Hulk and not as strong. The gray Hulk also had a personality all his own, a street-wise tough guy persona and took on the name of Joe Fixit, becoming a Las Vegas enforcer. At one point, the aforementioned Doc Samson, through sessions with Banner and the Hulk, was seemingly able to unite all three aspects of the character€”the savage green Hulk, the cunning gray Hulk, and Bruce Banner€”into one form (later this was revealed to be yet another personality). This new Hulk has the strength of the green Hulk, street smarts of the gray Hulk, and the intelligence of Bruce Banner. The character also went through a period where they would transition between all different forms. Then there were also periods when the Hulk and Banner have been separated and at different points, Banner has tried to stop the Hulk, or flipping it on its head, Hulk was tasked with stopping Banner. The point here is that the Hulk has gone through more changes than a lot of heroes, and those changes present a whole lot of different story opportunities. It doesn€™t always have to be Banner struggling to cure himself before eventually realizing he needs to transform into the Hulk to stop a bigger threat.
