5. James Bond Is Moving Studios

Thought it was only superheroes who have complicated rights issues? Think again. James Bond as a franchise is owned by MGM and EON productions, who, in the early-naughties after long-standing financial issues, struck a deal with Sony to produce and distribute the next four 007 movies. That original deal is set to run out with Spectre and, with MGM making it clear they're open to going with a different studio for Bond 25 and beyond, it looks like a bidding war is incoming. Now, we don't live in the rigid studio system of Golden Age Hollywood, where actors would be contracted to one company for a certain number of films, but it's conceivable a new studio would want a new James Bond so they can put a fresh stamp on the franchise (assuming Spectre's a hit, would you really want to try and directly follow-up to Sam Mendes' double-whammy?). And from Craig's perspective it would be beneficial to leave before potential turmoil and uncertainty kick in. After all, there's never been such a seismic change in Bond's history, the closest being that original Sony deal which saw Craig initially come on board. Given how much things changed with him, it's highly probably that post-Spectre Bond will be a very different man indeed. Literally...
