5 Reasons Why X Men: The Last Stand is Better Than X-Men: First Class

3. The Plot Holes

So, in First Class, Beast is trying to make a chemical that when injected into his feet will make them appear normal but whilst keeping all his X Men powers intact? So that makes no sense what so ever. So far, up until this point in the movie, his X Men powers seem to be completely reliant on having opposable thumbs on his feet. So Hank, when your feet become normal, how will you be able to grab onto things with them? Guess you were lying when you said you were a genius. Also, how come so many characters in First Class suddenly, and so easily become mini-Hitlers. At least in The Last Stand the only character who turned to the dark side was Jean Grey and she was the Phoenix so that€™s completely understandable. And yes, the Phoenix was kind of lame in this movie, and wasn€™t exactly the payoff to the build-up we were all excited for after X2, but then again so many characters in First Class were also kind of lame, and more unforgivably, First Class made the characters that were still mostly cool at the end of The Last Stand, Mystique for example, so not cool. Mystique, who apparently lived with Professor X in his mansion practically as his sister for most of both of their lives, turned against him (her brother, basically) to join with Magneto (who very almost killed a lot of innocent people), whilst Charles was at this point maybe bleeding to death having been shot in the back. What a lovely, grateful sister to have. Abandon the brother, best friend, who gave you a place to stay all of your life to join the Mutant Nazi Party€ awkward. I like the angry, emotionally damaged Mystique we saw in the previous trilogy€ but if First Class was really what was supposed to happen years before this trilogy then I don€™t like Mystique anywhere near as much as I thought I did. Why was she so angry as an adult? Spoilt brat basically. There are so many continuity problems and muddled character histories in all the X Men films (Wolverine included) that I kind of wish First Class had been a reboot, than trying to make any sense in relation to the other films, which it didn€™t. When they return for the sequel, maybe the time travel plot can make the continuity problems finally make some sense.
