5 Reasons You Should Obviously Watch Daredevil Before Batman V Superman
4. Daredevil - 1, Man Of Steel - 0
Some fans like to pretend that Batman v Superman is the start of the DC Extended Universe (or whatever Warner Bros. are/aren't calling it), but the fact is that it all began with Man of Steel back in 2013. I didn't actually hate that movie, but it wasn't the Batman Begins for Superman that the trailers promised, and as well as being disappointing in a lot of way, the movie had some huge issues which are still being discussed today. While the majority of its faults have been blamed on writer David Goyer - who was replaced by Chris Terrio on Batman v Superman - Zack Snyder also needs to be held accountable, and so the fact that Man of Steel didn't exactly stick the landing should definitely be a concern going into this sort of sequel. The fact is, there no track record here which offers any sort of solid promise that the movie isn't going to disappoint. Daredevil on the other hand might just be Marvel's most critically acclaimed adaptation to date, and while Steven DeKnight is no longer serving as showrunner, there's really no reason to believe that season two won't maintain the same level of quality as the first. After all, his replacements - Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez - contributed to season one as producers and writers, so they're well versed in this corner of the MCU. They also both have solid television backgrounds with the likes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sons of Anarchy, so not having faith in their abilities to deliver something amazing here would be very foolish. The Man Without Fear's next adventure just feels like a safer bet if you're struggling to decide and want to be sure of a satisfying viewing experience, especially as Petrie and Ramirez have a more reliable track record.
