5 Seriously Great Movie Performances By TV Actors

4. Kelsey Grammer - X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Kelsey Grammer X Men There are few things enjoyable about the third film in the X-Men franchise. With too many popular characters either pushed aside or killed off, the film was so poorly received it nearly derailed the entire series. Possibly the biggest shining light, however, is the genius casting of Frasier himself - Kelsey Grammer - in the role of Beast, the Secretary For Mutant Affairs. Not only does Grammer€™s voice fit perfectly with the well-mannered mutant, but the stature and gravitas he gives to Beast makes you realise what could have been with the film. Grammer has since moved back to TV with Boss and Back to You, though we will be seeing a lot more of Dr. Crane on the big screen over the course of the next year. Not only will he be the big bad human antagonist of the next Transformers flick, but he€™s also recently joined the cast of Expendables 3. Whether this'll mean - once again - that he's going to end up being the best thing in two bad movies, I€™ll leave to... aw, who are we kidding? That€™s pretty much a given.

As a pretty nerdy guy, I've loved film and television since I was a wee lad. Growing up in Ireland, The Den was the show to watch with it playing Batman The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and everything in between. I have an MA in Radio and Television Production and have written for various sites, hope you enjoy my articles/lists for What Culture!
