If we do get old Normie back to the Spider-Man film franchise, though, then I think Im right to say that this would be the fan favourite storyline for his return.
Secret Invasion revolved around the underground invasion by the Skulls of Earth whereby they took on the images of famed superheroes across the world. This dark saga culminated in the rise of the former Green Goblin into power with a new team of Dark Avengers, and so would provide the ideal opportunity for Peters alter-ego to face off against his arch-foe. As hopes for future storylines go, this one might be a bit ambitious, but while were on the topic of (somewhat optimistic) big game-changing storylines Andrew Garfields Spidey could participate in, theres one more which I reckon tops just about every fans list
