4. Gwen Stacy - The Amazing Spider Man (2012)
Prior to its release, many a fan turned and passionately established their despise towards an immediate re-boot of the web slinger's franchise, while many others welcomed it favourably and waited in anticipation for its unveiling. The film did satisfy audiences, while only some fans of the Sam Raimi trilogy still scorned it maliciously. Director Marc Webb's second film, after the surprising commercial and critical success of 500 Days of Summer, rejuvenated the series and gave audiences an entertainingly good film, that appeared to have adopted the romanticism and indie vibe of his first debut film. Stone fulfilled the role of Gwen Stacy, Peter's intelligent and vibrant love interest, which in turn gave us a sweet natured and palpable chemistry between Peter and Gwen throughout the film, which made us beam uncontrollably. As her performance as the love interest, it naturally captured and enveloped the role, bristling with talent and flare. The chemistry between the two was a fundamental reason to why this film worked and demonstrated a credible and convincing romance, thus making this film an enjoyment to watch. I look dotingly towards seeing her performance in the approaching sequel.
