5 Superb 80s Kids Franchises That Need The Hollywood Treatment

1. He-Man & The Masters Of The Universe

he-man-masters-universeThis is the one we all want! I know it, you know it, your family knows it, Prince Adam of Eternia knows it, Man-At-Arms knows it and even that dumb son-of-a-b*tch Beast Man knows it. So why haven't any movie studios given it the go ahead?! Do it, damn you all! Apparently John Chu was in talks to direct a potential movie last year, but nothing seems to have happened since. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was simply awesome. The array of characters was fantastic and to see it produced utilising both live action and modern CGI would be incredible. Following the adventures of Prince Adam and his powerful alter-ego He-Man on his home planet of Eternia, it was an action-packed epic that mixed Conan the Barbarian with Star Wars and produced one hell of a composite. The main villain, Skeletor - a powerful magic user with a skull for a head - along with his band of baddies, made for one of the most memorable enemies in the history of fiction. Of course, we've had a Masters of the Universe movie before - in 1987, when Dolph Lundgren starred as He-Man - but we need an adaptation more faithful to the cartoon! Where was Prince Adam? We need He-Man€™s alter-ego. We need it to be set on Eternia. We need Grayskull. We need Snake Mountain. We need Orko. We need Battle Cat. We need a Beast Man who looks more threatening than his 80€s counterpart creation €˜My Pet Monster€˜ (honestly, the 80€s live action Beast Man was pathetic!). Come on Hollywood, give the fans what we want and bring He-Man and company to the big screen, sooner rather than later! Do you agree with this list?
