2. Thundercats
The idea of a
Thundercats movie is nothing new - in fact it's been talked about for years. Sadly, however, nothing has actually ever been done about it. It would make SUCH a cool movie though! The Thundercats - Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, WilyKit and WilyKat (and Snarf) - are a group of cat-like humanoid aliens.
Thundercats' premise is that the titular team must leave their dying home Planet - Thundera - and flee to a new world. As they leave, they are attacked by the mutants of Plun-Darr - long-time enemies of the Thunderians. This leads them off-course and they must head to a planet which wasn't their original intended destination. That planet is Third Earth. The Thundercats make Third Earth their new home, but they are not alone. The mutants followed them and have joined forces with a powerful and mystical Third Earth inhabitant known as Mumm-Ra. The franchise follows the battle between the Thundercats and this dangerous alliance. I can only begin to imagine how awesome the Thundercats and their foes would look in live action with a big Hollywood budget. And the huge existing fan-base - backed up by new fans of the recent rebooted cartoon series - would make sure this was a massive box office success.
