5 Things Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa Should Include

4. Casual Prejudice and Awkward Situations

2168808jREX270213 If there's anything that defines the character of Alan Partridge, it's his ability to look down on people and get into a mess. While never stepping over into David Brent levels of arrogance, here is a character who frequently broadcasts his unfounded bigotry and even more unpopular opinions to anyone who will listen. There are many groups he doesn't hesitate to unknowingly insult, which is what often gets him into the embarrassing situations he very frequently finds himself in. His attitude towards the security staff at a country club lead him having to climb over a fence and piercing his foot on a spike in the process, and an off-hand comment about a farmer's breakfast consisting of "an infected spinal column in a bap" even lead to him being crushed by a dead cow. It seems that this time Bus Driver's appear on the list of inadvertent victims, and the trailer also makes you wonder if his getting another DJ sacked from his station (and starting the whole siege incident in the first place) has anything to do with his being Irish? It's not like he holds a track record for Anglo-Irish relations, as in his ignorance he once compared Bloody Sunday to the tedium of reading oversized newspapers and washing the car.
