3. Heavy Kissing
As witnessed in the teaser, Partridge himself acknowledges that the list of what the film is about contains "heavy kissing and guns". Later the trailer showed more guns (or shooters as Alan calls them) than I was able to count, and Partridge in a tight(ish) embrace with a lady in a red dress. Something which also leads me to expect Chris de Burgh to feature on the film's soundtrack. More than just "heavy kissing", surely the film has to flesh out this romantic subplot as much as is allowed. Obviously it shouldn't overshadow the main siege aspects, but Partridge's previous dalliances with the fairer sex, most notably with his Ukranian girlfriend Sonja, gave us some of his most comical moments. His one night stand with employee Jill at the Linton Travel Tavern was also a particular highlight for the audience, but not necessarily Partridge himself. From the looks of the embrace in the trailer, Alan's trademark awkwardness hasn't been forgotten.
