5 Things Needed To Make A Good Alien Vs. Predator Movie

1. Get A Good Director

ridley scott Paul W.S. Anderson made a great science-fiction horror film in Event Horizon. So you could maybe see why certain people thought he might be a good choice to direct 2004€™s Alien vs. Predator. But he did also direct the silly Mortal Kombat and the dull Resident Evil, so who knows what they were thinking. The Brothers Strause directing Requiem was an even more baffling choice given their lack of directing ability (they only had experience in special effects). This franchise needs someone with fresh ideas and a new outlook on how to make an exciting film with these iconic movie monsters and perhaps that is why the Brothers were drafted in, but it certainly did not work. A proven track record and experience in action/science-fiction/horror is surely required. Of course it would be too much to ask to get someone like Guillermo del Toro on board and there is no chance of getting some of the original series directors like James Cameron or Ridley Scott on board given their thoughts on the AvP films so far. Ideally, this franchise could do with the up-and-coming talents like the Neil Blomkamp€™s of this world. Ideally, someone who is not afraid to put his/her own creative and visual stamp on the series, rather than a continuance of nods and odes to the classic original films. The problem with the Alien vs. Predator films so far is that they are trying too hard to stick within the mythology of the Alien and Predator franchises rather than experimenting and adding new and exciting components. What do you want to see in a new Alien vs. Predator movie? Do you even want to see a new movie after the first two? What directions could a new movie take to emerge from the shadow of the other films in the franchise?
