Maximus Decimus Meridius, Robin Hood, Noah... Russell Crowe seems to love playing historic, fictional characters. Darren Aronofsky's Biblical tale of the man with an ark took over £250m at the box office during its 2014 release but failed to win everyone over, with some who claimed it wasn't true to the original tale. PR material, distributed at the time of Noah's release, seemed to distance itself from the established series of events to save it from criticism - but if you weren't there, how do you know what really happened? Crowe is joined by two former co-stars - Jennifer Connelly from A Beautiful Mind, and Anthony Hopkins from The Efficiency Expert. Yes, that largely unknown film Hopkins starred in between The Silence of the Lambs and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Noah is an ambitious adventure, well worth your time if you haven't seen enough water this winter. Strap in for a stormy ride, as Noah the animal rescuer sails onto Netflix on February 28th.
