5 Things You Should Do Before You Watch Django Unchained

2.Watch Firefly

This is the most difficult entry on this list to write about, not because it doesn't belong, but simply because it's hard to type when there are tears on your keyboard. If nerds were asked to compile a list of the greatest atrocities to ever take place in the history of humanity, the cancellation of Firefly would occupy the top slot right after Batman & Robin. The 13 episode space-western followed the outlaw crew of the good ship Serenity as they journeyed from planet to planet stealing and smuggling along the way. Like most Joss Whedon projects, the series garnered much critical acclaim and attained a cult status among Sci-Fi and Western fans alike, the cries of whom can still be heard to this day. Why Should you Watch it?If you go into the series without knowing anything about it, or without even being a fan of the genre, you will still love it. The authentic Western feel is definitely there, yet it manages not to clash with the Sci-Fi elements of the show. It's so easy to transition from this show into another Westerns because of what a good job Whedon did staying true to the genre. The writing is done remarkably well, and the characters are incredibly likable. At its heart Firefly was just a great show that had the unfortunate luck of airing on Fox. Now if you'll excuse me for a moment I need to find a box of tissues.
