5 Things You Should Do Before You Watch Django Unchained

1. Watch Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2

Beatrix Kiddo is a former assassin who chooses to abandon her dangerous lifestyle in order to protect her unborn daughter. When members of her former assassin squad crash her wedding and attempt to murder her, she falls into a coma for four years. By the time she wakes up, she is left with nothing but an undying desire for revenge, and an internal soundtrack. The only thing smaller than their chances of surviving, is Beatrix's capacity for forgiveness.

Why Should you Watch it?

The Kill Bill duology is Quentin Tarantino's 250 minute ode to revenge; there's so much of it here that it couldn't even fit into one film. It's not a western, but it's so full of violence and vengeance that it'll probably get you more pumped for Django than anything else on this list. There's a ton of action, the writing is as good as you'd expect from a Tarantino film (pretty damn good), and the conclusion will leave you more than satisfied.

If there's one thing Tarantino does well it's revenge, and the amount contained in these films is bordering on Montoyan proportions. I'm not really taking a controversial stance by recommending a Quentin Tarantino movie, but seriously this is just a no-brainer - go watch these movies right now, unless you're a kid, in which case do not go watch these movies right now.

If you've made it this far, that means you're no longer a green horn where genre films are concerned. You're finally ready to watch Django Unchained, and I hope that when you do this list comes in handy.

If you feel that some entries don't belong on the list, or like anything is missing; feel free to expand add to the list in the comments.
