5. Noah - Directed by Darren Aronofsky (March 28th)
The reason this is at number 5 is more out of curiosity then sheer excitement, however the few images that have already been posted online about this film (the arc) are intriguing and I am interested to see where this film is going. I am an atheist, and this film is a religious epic so maybe wont be exactly my (or yours, depending on your religion or lack of) cup of tea, however the plot sounds interesting, the casting for this film is good and it is directed by Darren Aronofsky after all, who is mostly a fantastic director. However, I struggled to sit through The Fountain I dont know about you? Also, though I am an atheist, I loved The Prince of Egypt (just saying). The film features Russell Crowe in the lead role, with Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone and most interesting of all, Emma Watson as Noahs adopted daughter. I wonder how well her acting abilities will stand up against the giants of her fellow cast members??? The plot includes Noah meeting a group of six-armed angels known as Watchers who he tries to rally for his cause (saving sinners from the end of the world). Interesting A possible Oscar contender, however the release date is just outside the usual Oscar season.
