2. Roboapocolypse - Directed by Steven Spielberg (April 25th)
Steven Spielberg will direct and Drew Goodard, of Buffy, Angel, The Cabin in the Woods, Alias, Lost and Cloverfield is writing the screenplay. Get excited. This alone is enough to place this as number 2 on this list, but considering the source material and Spielbergs return to the Sci-Fi genre, I am expected to be blown away. The film will be set in the future in a society populated and reliant on robots, where humans face extinction after a scientist accidentally releases a sentient A.I. I havent read the book in which this film is based, written by Daniel. H. Wilson, but it has been given very good reviews so I am very optimistic. I also personally think Spielbergs best genre is science fiction (E.T, Minority Report, A.I, Jurassic Park I dont need to tell you this) so if the book had been complete crap, Id still be extremely hopeful that this film will be incredible. Also, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has apparently been offered the lead in the film, and so far, he has yet to disappoint me.
