5 Upcoming Films That Will Make 2015 The Biggest Year For Cinema Ever

2. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 (November 2015)

The Hunger Games was a massive success at the box office, although nowhere near the success The Avengers or Avatar were. This will be the final film in the franchise, so will have the advantage of having three films prior to this in order to build up a strong fan base who will surely flock to see this film on it's release. Unlike the rest of the world it seems, I have yet to read this trilogy of books, as I didn't read the Twilight books either (or Harry Potter mind you) but these books are hugely popular, and considering by 2015 the Twilight Saga of movies will be long past, as are the Harry Potter films already, this film series is likely to be the most popular film series with younger teenagers. This film also was loved by critics and audiences, so much so that it got three more films green-lit for release. Although I do not know the story of these films, considering this film will be the last part of the final book, I am imagining it will be pretty epic? I may be wrong though, you tell me. As long as the next two films in the saga continue to add to the love and do not nose dive in popularity, then it is pretty safe to say that this film should be the highest grossing of them all. Not only should the popularity of these movies and the box office taking snowball, but it is likely that Jennifer Lawrence's fame should also snowball somewhat- as should Liam Hemsworth's. It is not unlikely that these two young celebrities will become the next Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (not that I think they will ever become an item) in three years time, so it is safe to say this film will be massive upon release. It does have a lot of competition in the year mind you, and personally (unlike the other films on this list) I wasn't a fan of the first Hunger Games movie, and the sequel will have a difficult job trying to convince me to go and see this film in the cinema...give me Battle Royale or even The Running Man any day of the week.

I am a recent Screenwriting for Film and Television graduate from the UK. I am an unashamed geek who loves everything Marvel, and anything Joss Whedon has ever touched (except for maybe Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E). My current favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Homeland and Glee. I look forward to debating things with all of you in the future.
