5 Upcoming Horror Movies That Will Disappoint (And 5 That Could Be Great)

4. Cell

Cell movie
Clarius Entertainment

Cell’s plot is typical Stephen King: when a mysterious cell phone signal transforms the users into bloodthirsty creatures, a group of survivors band together in New England and eventually encounter a villain known as The Raggedy Man. Which sounds similar to The Stand, but until that adaptation reaches the big screen, Cell will have to do.

The cast includes John Cusack and Samuel L Jackson, both of whom previously appeared in 1408, one of the better (and highest grossing) King adaptations. Any movie that evokes pleasant echoes of The Stand and 1408 is already off to a good start.

If nothing else, Cell will be worth checking out to see if rumours of a cameo by Lloyd Kaufman are true. However, be warned: the director is Tod Williams, whose previous horror feature was Paranormal Activity 2.
