4. Finding Dory
Dory was the standout character of Finding Nemo, as Marlins loveable, hilarious yet irritable sidekick. But thats all Dory should be. The character was originally introduced as comic relief, necessary for such a dark plotline. But will they be able to turn the character into something more than a cheap amnesia joke? I dont know. Now I know that very little has actually been revealed about Finding Dory, given that it is scheduled for 2015, but this kind of scepticism is justified, given the nature of the first film. The title implies that Dory will go missing, and that father and son will team up this time in order to find her. Its an event film, as opposed to a strung out narrative. A similar comparison would be Taken 2, which received horrible critical reviews, due to it's lack of originality and 'more of the same' structure. I suppose there could be a twist that sees Dory flee of her own accord... we'll see. At least its not Finding Nemo 2, which would not only be a dire sequel, but make Nemo one of the unluckiest characters in film history.
