2. 21 Jump Street 2
Dont get me wrong, I loved 21 Jump Street. The story was hilarious and Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill played their roles perfectly but to be honest, theres no need for a follow-up. The plot was tied up within the first film, with the Tatum and Hills characters going back to school in order to prevent the expansion of a new drug. They succeeded, eventually, and then were told theyd be going to college. To be honest, its going to be a whole lot of the same thing. Theres really no point. I imagine it wont open to the same positive reviews of the first instalment, largely due to the horrendous repetition. A point was made in the first film that the buddying cops were told not that they were forbidden to drink and party with high school kids... yet did anyway. The marketing team will probably emphasise the this time, its legal essence to the film, but seeing as how we saw their party antics in the first film, what's the point? Im skeptical as to how they can build on the relationship of their two main characters. In the first film they hated each other, liked each other, swapped popularity roles, had a fight and made up. Given this genre of action comedy, the same course of events will more than likely repeat themselves, for no reason whatsoever.
