5 Villains To Bring The DCEU Into A New Era

4. Joker

Lex Luthor Super Suit
DC Comics

The Joker has been mishandled in every outing since 1989's Batman (yes including Heath Ledger's Joker). All of the iterations that we have seen give some explanation of a level of sanity behind the insanity that is the Joker. The Joker has no sense of sanity, there is no reason behind what he does beyond the tormenting of his foes and at times even his friends.

Imagine a rampant Joker whose only goal is to enjoy his demented idea of fun by doing all that he can to cause pain and conflict within all those around him. We have seen the extent of his madness in such stories as A Death In The Family where he dispatches (albeit temporarily) of Tim Drake's Robin in one of the most brutal demises ever put to print.

Perhaps even worse his total disregard for the consequences of his actions such as the Injustice comics inspired by the game where he kills Lois Lane leading to Superman's descent into villainy himself.

When the Joker is used at his maniacal and homicidal best he is the most unpredictable being in all of DC Comics and seeing this translated properly onto the Silver Screen would no doubt have audiences clamoring for more.
