5 Western Movie Remakes That Are Better Than The Original

A Fist

It is a well-known fact that cowboys are cool as hell. In fact, they are so cool that countless movies have been made about them. Some, of course, are better than others; Tombstone is way better, for instance, than Cowboys and Aliens. However, this article's focus is on remakes. Specifically, films of any genre that were redone as gunslingin', yee-hawin', tobacco-spittin' cowboy movies.

Remakes are often the cardinal sins of the movie industry. There's a good reason for that: a lot of the time, the filmmakers are banking on the name alone to bring them box-office success. Unfortunately, we, the viewing public, are often duped into paying our hard-earned cash to go and see them. Every now and then, though, there is a remake that totally defies the trend. It doesn't just avoid total and utter disappointment - it's actually a good film. Sometimes - dare I say it? - a great film. Here are five movies that, in my humble opinion, actually improved on the respective titles that inspired them - some more than others. As always, don't hesitate to vent your disagreements, criticisms etc in the comments section.
