5 Winners And 5 Losers From SDCC 2014

4. Interstellar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfWOhpaiNv4 What could have been a ho-hum Q&A session with Matthew McConaughey about his upcoming sci-fi pic Interstellar turned into a monumental event in the history of geek culture: Christopher Nolan's first visit to SDCC. That's right, the director of the Dark Knight trilogy never took the trip to San Diego while working on his Batman films, but decided to pay the convention a visit to show off some footage for his latest mind-bending spectacle, which is due to hit theaters in November. Not one to come empty handed, Nolan brought a third trailer for the film with him, which fans can't stop raving about. The footage features what attendees called "thrillingly huge" and "majestic" visuals and scale, and revealed several key elements about the film's plot, including who Jessica Chastain is playing, and some shots of spectacular galactic vistas and strange alien worlds. Footage of the panel can be seen below, though it unfortunately doesn't contain the new trailer. That particular gem is something fans will have to wait for, though some sources claim that it will be attached to prints of Guardians of the Galaxy, which opens later this week.
