2. Arnold Schwarzenegger As Mr Freeze - Batman & Robin
Some might find this weird but I was actually a little reluctant to put this one on the list. Not because the casting isn't actually that terrible but in a weird way the casting was not that bad when looking at what exactly the film was trying to achieve- an even more light hearted caper than Batman Forever. However when looking at it in terms of departure from the actual comic book character and what could be achieved if they cast someone better- even in a train wreck of a movie such as this- it simply had to go up here. Mr Freeze, like much of the Batman universe has an element of tragedy in his story. The difference is- unlike much of the Dark Knight's rogues gallery- Freeze is essentially a decent man forced to do bad things in order to keep his wife Nora alive or burning with vengeance at the people who took his wife away from him (depending on the background that one is deriving from). Freeze therefore deserves someone who can show the pathos and sadness in his past that grips his every action as well as the obsessive genius that allows him to create his weaponry. Schwarzenegger, despite his long acting resume, is wanting in both areas and therefore seems like a choice basically to add some much needed star power to the film rather than anything else.
