5 Woefully Cast Roles In Comic Book Movies

3. Chris Evans As The Human Torch - Fantastic Four 1 & 2

fantastic-four-chris-evans-as-the-human-torch Don't get me wrong- I think Chris Evans makes a great Captain America, but as the Human Torch? I think he's a bit misguided. The Human Torch should be a fun character to be around and to see goof off with the others members of the Fantastic Four. Admittedly the plot doesn't help Evans cause but in the film he comes off more as a dumb-ass frat boy that is too selfish to see the problems that they face rather than the valuable team member of the comic book series. How else can you explain the fact that he gets zero empathy when he's being a total jerk to a guy who has essentially permanently turned to granite? Some may put this totally at the hands of the script and there is little doubt that there is some fault here, but Evans doesn't seem to get the fact that Johnny Storm, while hot headed, was also incredibly loyal to his team mates and the cause. I am glad Evans has moved on to Captain America because he seems to fit the character much better- as seen in the first Captain America movie and the Avengers but the first Fantastic Four movie made Johnny Storm look like a selfish brat that needed a slap in the face.
