Plot: After having a premonition of a plane crash, high schooler Alex (Devon Sawa) saves himself and six others from the plane. Unfortunately, Death itself comes back for those cheated their fates.

The first great American horror film of the century was Final Destination, which stands tall as one of the most fiendishly entertaining horror films you'll ever watch - and it was also an important part of your writer's childhood.

An irresistible cocktail of atmospheric visuals, Hitchcockian suspense and pitch-black comedy, this takes one of the best premises in the history of the horror genre and utilizes it to perfection, resulting in one of the finest teen horror films ever made.

The acting is mostly terrible, but other than that Final Destination is an incredible thrill ride that, while not terribly well-received at the time, has deservedly seen its reputation increase considerably over the years. A franchise of mostly strong sequels followed, and a long-overdue sixth instalment is coming to HBO Max soon.
