Plot: Passengers on a high speed express train to Busan, led by Seok-woo (Gong Yoo, who played the Recruiter in Squid Game), try to survive a zombie outbreak.

At this point, the whole zombie outbreak trope is fairly played-out and to be frank, kind-of tiresome but films like Train to Busan are a reminder that, in the right hands, even the most overdone plot threads can be woven into cinematic gold.

Train to Busan has rightly become one of the most beloved horror films of the 2010s and it's essential viewing for horror fans but it should also come with the following warning: it'll probably ruin the zombie genre for you.

With its insane action sequences, heart-breaking death scenes, compelling characters and flawless premise - which takes the zombie outbreak trope and puts in in the claustrophobic setting of a high-speed express train - this really does put almost every other zombie film you'll ever watch to shame.

A disappointing sequel followed four years later. A US remake called The Last Train to New York is on the way.
